“One Nation under God” – An Eagle Scout Flagpole Project

Andy Myers ’19 has made way on his Eagle Scout Project at BDHS. His goal was to raise funds, plan, and then execute the installation of three flagpoles near the main entrance of school. The flagpoles represent BDHS current and past students’ love for their country, their state, and their Catholic faith. The American flagpole is dedicated to all members of the Dwenger Family who are serving, or have served, our country through the military; the Papal flagpole is dedicated to Fred Tone, our beloved past principal; and the state flagpole is dedicated to Haley Nellum, Class of 2016, who died during her BDHS sophomore year.

The cost for this project is approximately $7,000 to $10,000, which covers both materials and labor. The flagpoles have been raised, but the project is not completed yet. The flags have yet to be hung, there is landscaping to be finished and pavers to be laid that will adorn the area underneath the flagpoles. With your financial contributions, this project will provide lasting improvements to Bishop Dwenger. To donate to Andy's project you may send a check to the Development Office at Bishop Dwenger High School. Please put in the memo line "Flagpole Project".  You may also Click Here to give a gift online.
