In addition to the AP and Honors courses, Bishop Dwenger offers academic courses in the subjects of English, Math, Science, Foreign Languages, and Social Studies.  There are also a variety of elective courses in the subjects of Art, Music (vocal and instrumental), Business, and Vocational Programs at the Anthis Career Center.

Bishop Dwenger students are required to complete service hours and take two religion classes every year.

Bishop Dwenger High School students have experienced much success at the state level in academically and in our 20 sanctioned IHSAA sports.  We are very proud of their achievements and look forward to many more triumphs in the future.  Below are some of the highlights. 

2 Contest of Champions Grand National Championships in Cheerleading (2002, 2009)

3 National CanAm Championships in Cheerleading (1996, 1997, 1998)

4 State Championships in Cheerleading (1998, 2000, 2007, 2008)

1 State Championship in Cheerleading Stunt Group (2009)

4 State Championships in Gymnastics (1995, 2003, 2005, 2006)

3 State Championships in Football (1983, 1990, 1991)
2 State Championships in Girls Soccer (2005, 2006)

1 State Championship in Softball (2010) 
6 State Championships in the Academic Super Bowl - 3 in Social Studies (2001, 2003, 2005), 2 in Science (1990, 2010), and 1 in Spell Bowl (2007)
Countless Team SAC, Sectional, Regional, and Semi-State Championships, as well as individual State and Semi-State Champions and/or Finalists in Cheerleading, Wrestling, Gymnastics, Track, Golf, Dance, and Academic Super Bowl


Co-Curricular Activities

In addition to academics and athletics, Bishop Dwenger High School has 45 clubs and service organizations, and three club sports.  Over 80% of all Dwenger students are involved in at least one co-curricular activity.

Nationally Recognized

Bishop Dwenger was named a 2004 No Child Left Behind - Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education, placing us among the top 10% of schools nationwide.


In 2006, the school was named to the Catholic School Honor Roll which recognizes the top 50 Catholic schools in the nation.
