Campus Ministry

Campus Ministry at Bishop Dwenger High School seeks to promote, encourage, and strengthen all aspects of faith life for the students, faculty, and family of the school.  As our faith is interwoven into every aspect of our lives as Christians, so Campus Ministry coordinates the liturgies, spiritual activities, and programs to help all to deepen their relationship with Christ Jesus and the Church.  We call upon our students, their families, and the faculty to proclaim the Good News and to become signs of hope in our community, the Church, and in the world by being good witnesses to others.

Each month there are opportunities for students and faculty to get involved as Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, Lectors, Altar Servers, and Music Ministers in our all school liturgies.  Rosary, confessions, and other prayer opportunities are offered throughout the school year to both the entire student body and in smaller groups in the chapel before, during, and after school.  Campus Ministry encourages and supports prayer in every classroom regardless of the subject area and offers assistance when needed.

The doors of all the Campus Ministry members are always open, and we are ready to answer any questions, assist with spiritual groups, discuss faith experiences, or just simply listen with a caring heart.  We are available for one-on-one discussions about issues related to spiritual life, faith development, vocational discernment, relationships, family, prayer life, and other related issues.

Campus Ministry Library

There are a series of Catholic talks from Lighthouse Catholic Media collecting in the Campus Ministry office for anyone to borrow and listen to. Many thanks to Lora Fairchild and Nancy Yorke for helping collect these talks. The talks are on a variety of issues and from well know speakers. They are all good to help deepen your faith life and knowledge of the Catholic faith. Come down to the Campus Ministry office is you are interested in these. I have the follow up CD to "Fishers of Men" that highlights the lives of three priests. The new one is called "The Catholic Priest Today". Either of these cd's is a great one to have any young men watch who are interested or contemplating the priesthood.
