Verification Day & Summer Information

Dear BD Parents,

We hope your summer is going well!  As a community, we are excited to celebrate our "Diamond Anniversary" this year as Bishop Dwenger turns 60!  Our theme this year is "Sixty Years Strong".  Just as a diamond is one of the hardest precious stones and in the second verse of our school song, "when our strength is revealed", this idea of strength is mentioned.  As we enter the second year of the Eucharist Revival, we also find strength in the Eucharist.  So, with this common idea of strength, it was the perfect time to incorporate it into our school's theme.

We would also like to welcome new faculty/staff members to Bishop Dwenger:
Math:  John Misek and Angela Bailey
Theology:  Alex Kromkowski
Performing Arts:  Tess Stachofsky
English:  Kim Heisler
Guidance:  Tracy Rozier
Chaplain:  Fr. Bobby Krisch

At this time, we are still looking for a Spanish teacher.  If you know of anyone interested/qualified, please feel free to pass along our contact information at the school or direct them to the diocesan job application page.

It is nearly July, and we are in the midst of preparing for the upcoming school year. Attached is our Verification Day flyer.  Please take a close look at it and take note of the many hyperlinks including:
-Athletic Tickets
-School Pictures
-Order the 23-24 Yearbook
-Place a Senior Ad in the Yearbook
-School Spirit Shop Link to Order Uniforms
-Parking Tag
-Supply List
-School Calendar
-Cafeteria News and My Payments Plus Lunch Account

Save the date to stop by BD on Verification Day, August 2 from 12:00 pm - 7:00 pm. It is important to complete the Verification Day JotForm Info prior to July 21.  If the form is filled out by a parent/guardian by July 21, a parent does not need to attend Verification Day with his/her child. It is best to fill out the form on a computer, rather than a phone or tablet.

Invoices for tuition will be mailed home within the next week. New Indiana Choice Scholarship laws go into effect July 1.  To learn more about the qualifications and to see if you are eligible, check out the info on our website.

We take pride in our work at BDHS. Forming young people has always been a very difficult business, requiring heroic patience and holy wisdom from parents and teachers alike. Bishop Dwenger is not only a special place, but it’s a rare place. There’s a vision and conviction here that has not only allowed this school to endure, but to flourish for the past 60 years. What an image! We ask that you pray for faculty, students, and families…that they may be faithful to its founding, followers of our mission, devoted to God, and committed to allowing God’s grace to carry us forward in service to His Kingdom as Citizens of Two Worlds.

Sincerely,
BD Administration
