Ways to Give
The Annual Fund was established as a means of providing a steady stream of income to the school. Participation in the Annual Fund helps bridge the gap between tuition and the actual cost of educating each student at Bishop Dwenger. Each year the school provides over $650,000 in tuition assistance for families in need. More than 35% of our students receive some type of tuition assistance or scholarships. Annual Fund gifts help to provide the financial resources needed for these students. Your generosity to the Annual Fund ensures that many students are able to receive a Bishop Dwenger High School education.
All gifts to the Annual Fund gifts are unrestricted which means that the school and its administration determine how the money will be utilized. Gifts to the Annual Fund also provide funding for capital expenditures and the professional development of our faculty. In addition, gifts may be used to enhance the offerings in our various academic departments.
Annual Fund gifts are tax deductible and have a direct impact on the everyday lives of students at Bishop Dwenger, regardless of the size of those gifts. These gifts typically range from $25 to more than $1,000 a year. Those who donate $500 or more become members of the Circle of Saints Society, the school's premiere donor recognition group.
Many employers throughout the country match gifts to private secondary schools such as Bishop Dwenger. Below you can view a partial list of matching gift companies that may match your gift to Bishop Dwenger High School dollar for dollar, or even 2:1 or 3:1. Please note that most companies will match a spouse's gift as well! Gifts are usually matched to the same program you designate the original gift, and all matching gifts count toward your total annual gift amount. Most companies require the employee to obtain their matching gift form, complete it, and send it in with your donation, so please check with your human resource department for specific matching information and procedures. Eligible gifts include, but are not limited to, donations to the Annual Fund, Capital Campaign and scholarship funds, including the Saints Alive! Tuition Assistance Fund.
The Annual Fund year runs concurrently with the fiscal year of the school, July 1 through June 30.

The Society recognizes those individual donors who contribute $500 or more to the Annual Fund and/or Saints Alive! Tuition Assistance Fund

Planned giving offers individuals a special opportunity to share in Bishop Dwenger's mission. It may be through a simple bequest in a will, a life insurance policy, or even a charitable trust. We encourage you to discuss various options with your financial planner.
If you are considering including Bishop Dwenger in your estate plans, we ask you to keep us informed of that commitment. We also ask for documentation of the planned gift, for example, a copy of pertinent provisions in the individual's will or trust, a copy of the life insurance policy which names the school as a beneficiary, or a letter from an individual's attorney stating that he or she has, indeed, included Bishop Dwenger High School in his or her estate plans.
Bishop Dwenger is blessed with an endowment fund that helps provide ongoing support for tuition assistance and other programs at our school. Each year memorial gifts, other cash gifts, plus planned gifts are added to our endowment funds to help provide for the long-term needs of the school. These gifts are invested through the Catholic Community Foundation of Northeast Indiana and proceeds are used solely for the benefit of Bishop Dwenger High School. Growth in the endowment fund is critical to Bishop Dwenger's successful future.
