April 26

  • Today is the LAST DAY to order the yearbook.  Go to bdyearbook.com to do so.
  • Next week on Tuesday April 30th during 2nd period a representative from Sweet Aviation will be here to discuss career opportunities that exist in aviation and the training necessary to become a pilot. If this is something you are interested in learning more about, please stop by the guidance office before Tuesday and pick up a permission slip form. Sky is the limit Saints, go reach it!
  • Come support our boys rugby team TONIGHT @ Shields Field.  JV at 6pm and Varsity at 7:30.
  • Come to our Musical the Secret Garden on Friday/ Saturday at 7PM, 4/26-27. Tickets at $10 at the door and $5 for students.  Come out and support the Performing Arts!
  • There will be a call out meeting for any BDHS high school students interested in joining color guard (includes dance choreography too), drum line or marching band on May 9th at 7pm in the band room. We do not make cuts. Everyone is welcome to join. Starting this coming school year, you can earn fine arts credits! If you are interested and cannot attend the meeting, please see Mr. Cochran.
  • BDHS Medical Club Members: We have the opportunity to get CPR certified on Thursday, May 16th, at 4pm. There are only 20 seats available in the class so please e-mail or Canvas message Mr. Quigley to secure your spot.

  • The time has come to submit portraits and group shots for the video to be played at graduation. Every student is recognized whether or not each Senior submits a picture but if you choose not to, your Senior's school picture will be used. All photos are subject to review by administration and will not be used if deemed inappropriate. If you have not yet taken senior photos or do not want to submit any, please email bdseniors2024@gmail.com. Photos are due by May 1st.

April 25

April 22

  • FBLA is looking for officers for the upcoming school year.  Current FBLA members, see your Canvas inbox for the application and details.  Applications are due May 10th. Please see Mrs. Lewis with any questions.
  • Book Club meets TODAY after school in the library.
  • Today is the first day of Spring Basketball training. Please come join Mr. Lewis in the SAC today and tomorrow from 3-4:30.  Both interested boys and girls are welcome.  See you after school!

  • Student Council Members who are working in organizing the attic. Please meet in room 112 by 3:05 for today. Any other student council members who want to assist are more than welcome and this counts as one of your Flex activities if you need them. We will also be meeting on Wednesday after school as well. 
  • SEA will be collecting recycling on Tuesday and Wednesday this week. Please meet in room 112 right after school if you are helping out. This earth week we want to challenge anyone who has NEVER helped with Recycling to stop by and see what all happens. 
  • The Bishop Dwenger Saints Track Teams will host Wayne and North Side on Wednesday at Shields Field.  $6 cash, card or online https://public.eventlink.com/tickets?t=77617&p=118443.  BD Athletic Season passes are accepted.  Seniors will be recognized at 5:10, the meet begins at 5:30 pm. 
  • Come out and cheer on the SAINTS!  
    Varsity Softball plays Concordia at 5:30 pm at WBA. Varsity Baseball plays Leo at 5:30 pm at WBA.  JV Baseball plays Luers at 7:30 pm at WBA.  Lady SAINTS Tennis at South Side at 4:30 pm.   Come out and cheer on the SAINTS!   Check the BD Web Calendar for all events.  

April 19

  • Bishop Dwenger CRS Club will be meeting on Monday, April 22 at 7:20 in Mrs. Hill’s room, 208. We will be discussing plans for next year and there will be breakfast. All are welcome to attend.

  • Our Ivy Tech rep will be here Friday, April 19th during all lunches to meet with students taking courses at Ivy Tech during the fall 2024 semester. This is also an opportunity for students interested in Ivy Tech’s free summer courses or enrollment after graduation. Please stop into Guidance during your lunch if you’re interested in Ivy Tech.
  • Attention all basketball enthusiasts! Get ready to improve your game! We're excited to announce our Open Gym dates for April and May, open to both boys and girls. Mark your calendars for April 22, 23, 30, and May 2, 6, and 9, from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM. It'll be a blast!  So, Don't miss out on the excitement. See you on the court!  For more information, contact Mr. Lewis in the Main gym.

  • SADD would like to remind you that talking and texting while driving is illegal. Drivers found talking on the phone while driving can be given a ticket of up to $75 for a first offense. Minors under 18 found doing the same can have their licenses suspended for 90 days.

April 17

  • All who have signed up for '33 Days Morning Glory' please come to Pastoral Ministry to pick up your book.  Anyone reading 33 Days to Morning Glory is welcome to meet in Mr. Kromkowski's room (119) at 3:10 today, to discuss the first day's readings from the book.
  • Students who are attending or helping at tomorrow's Scholarship Luncheon should have received an email today from Mrs. Sekel.  Please read this carefully, as it has your instructions for tomorrow!

    If you are taking a PFW dual credit course here at BD or on campus next year, you will need to complete their Collegiate Connection application. A PFW representative will be here on Wednesday, April 17 at 8:00 a.m.to assist students with this process. This is a one-hour delay day, but you will need to be here at 8:00 in the cafeteria. Please bring with you your charged laptop. If you are taking any of the following classes next year, please plan to attend the application day event on Wednesday. 
  • We are in need of 10 student volunteers to help as a server at the "We Can Lend a Hand Luncheon" on Wednesday, April 24. The luncheon is offsite, so you will take a bus. You will leave at 10:15am and arrive back to school by 11:45am. You will be fed a pizza lunch when you return to school. Check the Canvas announcements page to sign up.
  • SEA will collect 1st floor recycling today after school. Please meet in Room 112 at 3:05.   SEA will have a meeting on Wednesday after recycling and on Thursday After school at 3:05.
  • Due to Priestly meetings, we will not have Mass after school in the Chapel on Thursday.
  • Using a cell phone while driving creates enormous potential for deaths and injuries on U.S. roads, an average of 3,308 people were killed in motor vehicle crashes a year involving distracted drivers. SADD would like to remind you not to text and drive.
  • Student Council members: Student Council has a mandatory meeting this Friday, April 19th, at 7:15 in Ms. Wolf's room 123.  Please bring your events signature sheet to the meeting.

  • Tryouts for the BD Pom Tuffettes Team will be held on April 16, 17 and 18 in the SAC gym at 3:30-5:30 pm.  Please make sure to register online prior to arriving Tuesday for the tryouts.  There will be a short Parent/Athlete meeting at 5:30 pm on April 16th in the SAC Gym.

To qualify, you did not need to be an officer this school year. If this interests you, please submit an application to Mrs. Lewis by May 16.

  • A representative from Cutco Knives will be here tomorrow during all lunch periods to discuss summer job opportunities.     If you are taking the ACT tomorrow, be sure to check and print your admission ticket, because your testing location may have changed. Some students who registered to take the test at Snider have been moved to Homestead.

April 11

  • Canceled events for today:  Softball vs Heritage, Tennis vs Canterbury, Boys Golf - the course is closed so meet Coach Fink in the SAC gym after schol for a short practice, and the CYO Meet is canceled as well.
  • BDHS Medical Club will meet next week on Tuesday, April 16th, at 7 a.m. in the library. We need an updated club roster of participants. If you can’t attend the meeting, please let Mr. Quigley know if you still want to remain on the roster.
  • Pom tryouts for the 2024-2025 season will be held in the SAC gym April 16th, 17th and 18th after school til 5:30.
  • Bishop Dwenger will be having a dollar dress down day this Friday to support the Catholic Charities Rice Bowl Program. Thanks to everyone who has already donated, we have raised nearly $1000. If you still have a Rice Bowl at home, please bring it to Mrs. Hill in room 208. This program supports the needs of the poor around the world, so please be generous this Friday!
  • Keys Club will be having our final meeting of the year next Monday, April 15th at 7:20 in the cafeteria. The new board will be announced and Mrs. Horne will be passing out chevrons. Breakfast foods will be provided. If you have any questions, see Mrs. Horne in Guidance.
  • Attention Seniors: The Bishop Dwenger Student Media class asks all seniors to fill out the senior survey on your plans after high school. This survey is on the senior canvas page and it would be greatly appreciated if you could fill it out.
  • Seniors- Jostens Cap and Gown pickup will be during all 3 lunches in the SAC this Friday. All seniors that ordered a cap and gown should pick up their orders during lunch Friday.
  • SADD would like you to recognize the five distracted driving behaviors. Distracted driving is any activity that diverts attention from driving, including talking or texting on your phone, eating and drinking, talking to people in your vehicle, fiddling with the stereo, entertainment navigation system — anything that takes your attention away from the task of safe driving.
