April 18

  • Our Ivy Tech rep will be here Friday, April 19th during all lunches to meet with students taking courses at Ivy Tech during the fall 2024 semester.   • Attention all basketball enthusiasts! Get ready to improve your game! We're excited to announce our Open Gym dates for April and May, open to both boys and girls. Mark your calendars for April 22, 23, 30, and May 2, 6, and 9, from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM. It'll be a blast!  So, Don't miss out on the excitement.   • No Rosary Makers Club today or 4/25 ; we will have our final meeting for the year on May 2 in the SAC lobby. 
  • ATTENTION SENIORS
    Upcoming retreat permission forms are being distributed through your theology classes.  Please turn in completed permission forms to Pastoral Ministry NO LATER THAN Thursday, April 24.   Any questions, please see Mr. Garrett in Pastoral Ministry.
  • SADD would like to remind you that talking and texting while driving is illegal. Drivers found talking on the phone while driving can be given a ticket of up to $75 for a first offense. Minors under 18 found doing the same can have their licenses suspended for 90 days.

April 17

  • All who have signed up for '33 Days Morning Glory' please come to Pastoral Ministry to pick up your book.  Anyone reading 33 Days to Morning Glory is welcome to meet in Mr. Kromkowski's room (119) at 3:10 today, to discuss the first day's readings from the book.
  • Students who are attending or helping at tomorrow's Scholarship Luncheon should have received an email today from Mrs. Sekel.  Please read this carefully, as it has your instructions for tomorrow!

  • Tryouts for the BD Pom Tuffettes Team will be held on April 16, 17 and 18 in the SAC gym at 3:30-5:30 pm.  Please make sure to register online prior to arriving Tuesday for the tryouts.  There will be a short Parent/Athlete meeting at 5:30 pm on April 16th in the SAC Gym.

  • Attention Sophomores and Juniors,
    If you are taking a PFW dual credit course here at BD or on campus next year, you will need to complete their Collegiate Connection application. A PFW representative will be here on Wednesday, April 17 at 8:00 a.m.to assist students with this process. This is a one-hour delay day, but you will need to be here at 8:00 in the cafeteria. Please bring with you your charged laptop. If you are taking any of the following classes next year, please plan to attend the application day event on Wednesday. 
  • We are in need of 10 student volunteers to help as a server at the "We Can Lend a Hand Luncheon" on Wednesday, April 24. The luncheon is offsite, so you will take a bus. You will leave at 10:15am and arrive back to school by 11:45am. You will be fed a pizza lunch when you return to school. Check the Canvas announcements page to sign up.
  • SEA will collect 1st floor recycling today after school. Please meet in Room 112 at 3:05.   SEA will have a meeting on Wednesday after recycling and on Thursday After school at 3:05.
  • Due to Priestly meetings, we will not have Mass after school in the Chapel on Thursday.
  • Using a cell phone while driving creates enormous potential for deaths and injuries on U.S. roads, an average of 3,308 people were killed in motor vehicle crashes a year involving distracted drivers. SADD would like to remind you not to text and drive.
  • Student Council members: Student Council has a mandatory meeting this Friday, April 19th, at 7:15 in Ms. Wolf's room 123.  Please bring your events signature sheet to the meeting.

  • BDHS Medical Club will meet next week on Tuesday, April 16th, at 7 a.m. in the library. We need an updated club roster of participants. If you can’t attend the meeting, please let Mr. Quigley know if you still want to remain on the roster.
  • Tryouts for the BD Pom Tuffettes Team will be held on April 16, 17 and 18 in the SAC gym at 3:30-5:30 pm.  Please make sure to register online prior to arriving Tuesday for the tryouts.  There will be a short Parent/Athlete meeting at 5:30 pm on April 16th in the SAC Gym.

  • FBLA is looking for new officers for 2024/2025 school year.  You will be working closely with Mrs. Lewis & Mrs. Weadock on various planning and organizing activities.  Membership applications have been emailed to all current FBLA members through Canvas. To qualify, you did not need to be an officer this school year. If this interests you, please submit an application to Mrs. Lewis by May 16.

    If you are taking the ACT tomorrow, be sure to check and print your admission ticket, because your testing location may have changed. Some students who registered to take the test at Snider have been moved to Homestead.

April 11

  • Canceled events for today:  Softball vs Heritage, Tennis vs Canterbury, Boys Golf - the course is closed so meet Coach Fink in the SAC gym after schol for a short practice, and the CYO Meet is canceled as well.
  • BDHS Medical Club will meet next week on Tuesday, April 16th, at 7 a.m. in the library. We need an updated club roster of participants. If you can’t attend the meeting, please let Mr. Quigley know if you still want to remain on the roster.
  • Pom tryouts for the 2024-2025 season will be held in the SAC gym April 16th, 17th and 18th after school til 5:30.
  • Bishop Dwenger will be having a dollar dress down day this Friday to support the Catholic Charities Rice Bowl Program. Thanks to everyone who has already donated, we have raised nearly $1000. If you still have a Rice Bowl at home, please bring it to Mrs. Hill in room 208. This program supports the needs of the poor around the world, so please be generous this Friday!
  • Keys Club will be having our final meeting of the year next Monday, April 15th at 7:20 in the cafeteria. The new board will be announced and Mrs. Horne will be passing out chevrons. Breakfast foods will be provided. If you have any questions, see Mrs. Horne in Guidance.
  • Attention Seniors: The Bishop Dwenger Student Media class asks all seniors to fill out the senior survey on your plans after high school. This survey is on the senior canvas page and it would be greatly appreciated if you could fill it out.
  • Seniors- Jostens Cap and Gown pickup will be during all 3 lunches in the SAC this Friday. All seniors that ordered a cap and gown should pick up their orders during lunch Friday.
  • SADD would like you to recognize the five distracted driving behaviors. Distracted driving is any activity that diverts attention from driving, including talking or texting on your phone, eating and drinking, talking to people in your vehicle, fiddling with the stereo, entertainment navigation system — anything that takes your attention away from the task of safe driving.
